I know there was a member talking about this a couple weeks ago, I searched but it didn't come up with the topic I was thinking about.

Anyways I have a 1992 honda prelude si it's only got about 97,xxx miles on it (155,xxx km) and I noticed today when I took it out for alittle drive that if I get up and on it that there is smoke (blue'ish like burning oil) at WOT, but it doesn't happen every time. Nor does it emit any smoke during regular acceleration or cold/intital start ups.

Is it normal for a engine to burn alittle oil when it's hot outside and under load, I know this isn't a diesel or it would be a regular thing haha.

Any reason to be concerned and or look for anything?

If I knew the HT members name I would've pm'd him about it but I don't think it's as bad as his issue he had a video of it up and it was blowing out quite abit of smoke when he was in the higher revs when accelerating.

I noticed this bluish smoke on my last motor. It was kinda scary at first, but its nothing to be overly concerned about. As long as its minimal...... But you will know when you have an issue, like when you take off down the street and leave a cloud of blue smoke behind you, then you have a problem

 

start with the PCV valve, $3 at discount auto or advanced auto.
