Default 2000 Honda Civic EX 3-piece OEM Air box

I lost my 3-piece air box for 2000 civic and i just won a bid on ebay for a Honda Civic Ex 1999 Air Box. I think that it's the same one but i just wanted to make sure that this one will fit a 2000. Thanks.

Cool, thanks a lot.

Will it help with my mpg once i put the oem back? I have a cheap-o intake and would like to increase my gas mileage even by just a little bit.

It might help you not lead foot it so much.

If you want to change your driving habits, start logging your gas mileage on a site such as gassavers.org.

My last tank on my '98 EX coupe was 35.88 mpg and it's only getting better since I started recording (started with about 28mpg and only have changed driving habits so far - could use a tune up).

what would be the oldest year the OEM air box compatible with my model? I see that the 1998 air box looks similar as well.

I believe the 96-97 box will fit as well. Honda is smart, not too much differentiation between parts. After all, it was the invention of interchangeable parts that sparked the industrial revolution.

The 99-00 are identical. There may be slightly different sensor placement with the 96-98 boxes (I'm unsure), but I'm sure you could get them to work.

Don't expect to gain anything by going back to the stock box. You're better off changing your driving habits and checking your tire pressure.

What are the specs on your setup?

Everything is stock except for the bolt on exhaust, lowering springs and shot ram intake.
