Default transmission fill bolt stuck! need a work-around

Hey I have a 1.5L crx dx (1988) and I drained the tranny fluid (manual) to change it and I can't get the filler bolt out. It's stuck and my 11/16" wrench isn't working.

Is there any kind of work-around for this bolt? I heard something about the speed sensor hole but I can't find it.

I drained the oil first, so until I figure this out, I can't drive anywhere. Thanks for posting.

Is it stuck, or stripped? If it is just really tight try using a breaker bar along with the 17mm wrench. If it is stripped, you can fill the transmission through the reverse sensor. Its a 19mm sensor that has the two wires coming off of it. Its located on the top near the front of the transmission.

It takes ~ 1.8 quarts.

thanks so much for the response.

could you describe the reverse sensor more? when you stand in front of the tranny looking down at it, where is it? I can't seem to find what you're talking about but I'm dying to get it fixed!

why are you using sae tools on a metric bolt it's 17mm
i could go on a rant but i won't
loosen the reverse sensor (try wd40 or pb blaster to bust it) take your 3/8 ratchet and pull out the fill plug on the side the diff fill it with 10w/40 untill it comes out the fill plug put the reverse-o sensor back in and then the fill plug BAM you're done

Easy!

You can fill the Gearbox through the breather hole at the top! Get a funnel and a tube that fits over flush.
It will take around 20mins to fill

thanks lots for the replies!

I ended up getting the fill plug out w/a 17mm from the top with a cheater bar on it...

Next time I go out i'll get some pb, so next time it won't take as long.

Yup, no more SAE tools for me, i get it.

Thanks again
