So, I'm leaving a theater after seeing The Strangers (terrible movie, by the way), and I'm sitting at a stop sign. All of the sudden, I hear a honk from behind me, so I look in my rear view and then I get backed into on the drivers side. The vehicle was a 2002 Explorer with a trailer hitch that basically made my car it's bitch. I'm so upset.
Police were called, we exchanged insurances and he accepted fault without any complications. This is my first "accident," so I'm not exactly sure what I need to do as far as going about getting this fixed.
Um.. Here are the pics..

ooo **** man that hella sucks!!! yeah i had someone hit my car but it was at work and my car was parked hahaha....well anyways this is wat i did....(note that i just did this 3weeks ago and it worked for me).....after i got hit i called their insurance company to get a claim number.....they will ask you for all the info so have all of that ready....next after you got the number, go to a shop that is certified by that insurance company and get a quote......if you like that shop then tell them that you want them to do all the work....usually wat they will do is take pics with their camera and send it to the insurance company instead of sending an inspection person......then when they get the OK approval, you drop off your car and you should be liable for a rental untill your car is done.....if so make sure you get the insurance for the rental and that should also be covered by the insurance company.....that should be all of the info you need......good luck!!!!
p.s i got lucky cuz i know a shop that i do business alot and they gonna hook me up with a new paintjob hahaha

This happened when I was leaving, I was at a stop sign. Are you referring to it being stolen? That doesn't really happen around here too often. *knock on wood*
It's my DD though.

Get someone else to drive. I never take my Honda to the movie theatre.
Either way, shitty about the accident. Just make sure you take it to a decent body shop and that they repair everything correctly.

I'm really sorry to hear man...but at least it's totally fixable and there's no frame damage...maybe you can get a full respray out of the deal!

And yup. It's cool that it's a DD, but it's not like you HAVE to take it to the movies...IDK, you're just really setting yourself up leaving it for hours in a parking lot at a place where a bunch of teenagers hang out.

for those who gave advice...
does a hit and run incident (my car was hit while parked) raise your rates when you make a claim?
