Default Bypassing

Just wondering if anyone knows what this piece is , its function , and if it can be bypassed to further cool the intake charge . Got a hondata heat shield on the way did the throttle body bypass mod and I was looking for any other bypassing that might have a positive affect on intake temp . This part sits directly in front of the intake mani. It has two coolant hoses that circulate through it to the thermostat housing .

Idle Air Control valve, Keep it

Edit: You can lose the coolant lines though, They keep it from freezing and sticking in the cold. Considering your in Ga, I dont think you need them, Imo

I don't think that it will benifit you at all to block it off, or by-pass it.

Take it off and clean the screen in it, if your having idle issues after that, I'm thinking it's a little more digging into you emmisions, or vacuums pertaing too.

Not sure though.

Yeah I removed my lines about 2.5 years ago. No problems at all. How far is Kingsland from Macon. We have a few 4th genners here, maybe we could set up a meet sometime.

Im on the flordia line so theirs a huge import tuner scene right near me in jacksonville , but a lude meet is always a cool idea . Another thing did you notice any difference after the removal? I noticed a little more pull after the tb bypass . cant wait to get my heatshield.

No the hose is attached to a plate that screws onto the bottom of the IACV. I will let you know when I am in the Jacksonville area.

koo . I just pulled one line off , shortened the other and redirected it back to the thermo housing . I've got my auto meter water temp sender teed in between it . Still getting a good temp reading and all seems fine for now (knocks on wood 3 times) .
