Default Dizzy at full advance to hit base timing.

So i was having issues with a code 9 on my car and i swapped the dizzy (no change) and the ecu (fixed it).....

However now when i set base timing i have to turn the dizzy full advance just to get the base timing to the center mark. This is on a d16y8.

The idle is set to 750 and rad fan had kicked on 3 times before setting the idle.

if your d16y8 is stock (stock cam, stock cam gear) then probably your timing belt is off by a tooth or you have the wrong distributor

Belt is not off by a tooth, The dizzy i took off lined up fine but threw a code 9. The dizzy i put on lined up as well btu still threw a code 9.

Once i changed the ecu to another one from a 97 el (d16y8 as well) it needed to be at full advance to hit the base timing.
