Semi OT: Nissan Sentra SE-R
Why do these owners always get sand in their vaginas going around saying they are better than ITRs? I'll admit I know nothing about them, but given much more ITR>SER in appearances/reviews in magazines I would like to say ITR>SER. What's good about them? And why do they argue so strongly?
older style (like 92?) SER were very light cars and supposedly pretty quick and handle well. I used to want one back in the day. I dont know why its being compared to the ITR though bc I dont think they are in the same league.
I have an B13 SE-R in my driveway. It's the only good generation of SE-R's imo.
Better than an ITR? No. A great car, yes. It was the ITR of the early 90s, great track cars for their day, OEM LSD, etc.
I'd take an SE-R over an ITR for a DD though, I couldn't care less if mine got stolen.

Good job taken a stab at all Japanese right there by using the word "Jap", which is a commonly known derogatory word towards people of Japanese descent.
And as I stated above, I'm a nissan owner. I've owned a few nissans, so what exactly are you saying about me again?

what year was the B13? that was the older, boxier style right? I know there is actually a pretty large aftermarket for that car. or at least there was back then.

Yeah, 1991-1994. My 93 is actually a Mexico Domestic Market car and was called the "2000 GS-R" in Mexico. A few minor differences from the US one, but mainly, they didn't have ABS nor sunroofs, even better for track use

I'm not Japanese, so you didn't offend me except by your ignorance of the word you used. However, a lot of members here who I have a lot of respect for are offended by the word. I was simply informing you that the word you used may not be the best one available if you are trying to look intelligent in this discussion.
Also, good job on following up one generalization with another, your arguement is so strong I won't even try to argue with you.
We all know that Honda fanboys are so much different and would NEVER put down a product because of the emblem on the front of the car....

I wouldn't mind having one at all, they can be very quick little cars. The SR20 isn't as astonishing as the B15C5 in stock form but it's got great potential, and the factory LSD is always nice. I've driven a few different SE-R's but never a B13 unfortunately. I'd much rather have an ITR, though.
I swear I saw this exact same thread with almost the exact same wording a year or two ago.
I own 2 Hondas and a Nissan SE-R and I used to have VWs so what does that make me?
The magazines compared the SE-R against the Type-R because they were the high performance models of basic Japanese commuter cars available at the time.
I bought a 2004 Sentra SE-R Spec V for my wife because it was the best small, fun to drive 4 door sedan we could find at the time for under $20,000. I would have never even considered it if there had been a 4 door Civic SI or a 4 door Integra available at that time for a similiar price. We looked at the Subaru 2.5 RS and the Mazda 3S Sedan but we both liked the SE-R better.
Personally I would never compare the Spec V to the ITR but they do both run in the same auto-x class (SCCA D Stock) where they were both pretty competetive up until a year or so ago. The SE-R is nowhere near the fun to drive level of a Type-R though. It's just an economy car with a big engine, big tires and stiff suspension.

As I clearly said in a previous post, I wasn't offended at all, let alone "super offended".
I supposed it's "ok" to joke about ****'s, Jewish people and african americans too because it's "a joke" right? Again, not offended at all here, just saying....
I didn't really see the joke at all, your statement was quite clear and intentional. You were saying that Nissan owners are like VW owners in the Japanese car community. I can see the truth to that (if you insert "some" infromt of "Nissan"/"VW". I can also see the truth that some Honda owners are like some VW owners. It's all perspective, no fanboy is any better than another. I've read PLENTY of (insert brand here) bashing on this forum over the years, at least as much as I've seen on my few visits to nissan forums when I need to search for some information.
This is a Honda forum (ok so it's more of a corporate for-profit forum these days, but still
) so obviously Honda fanboys will run rampant here, but if you change your perspective I think you'll see that Nissan owners really aren't any different from a lot of guys on here.
I certainly didn't see the Nissan guys having a problem keeping up with the Hondas at Expo 7

which is kinda weird. bc they have the GTR now, and the 350Z Nismo (my gf has one) is amazing to drive. I would LOVE to take that thing on the track. if feels very much like the S2K in handling, but has fuggin torque. the "sport compact" SER has kinda been left out and watered down, even though the sport compact "scene" has not really died off much. you would think they would want something competitive for that market.

actually, im on more than one car forum. im on nasioc, vw vortex, and was back in the day looking for a nx2000. and i see nothing but, hatred towards honda owners from each site and meet.
some of the owners are alright with hondas and see it as a car.
and please dont try and take my abbreviated word of "jap." which was used as japanesse to something derogatory like ****, Polack , mick or wap dago (im all four by the way) when i didnt...get off your high horse about this race bs...
ill joke about anything i want to, and if you cant laugh at yourself oh fawking well...and at no point was my original post a stab at japanesse people so stfu already...

FWIW, I was pretty much f'ing with you to make the time pass by
(got meetings now until 3)
Although I still don't like the word "Jap" nor do I think Honda fanboys are any better than Nissan ones, hell look at the first reply in this thread. If I wouldn't have started messing with you there would have been 20 more
I'll be back at 3, then I'll be bored until 5:30 so maybe I'll waste more time then

i find the most common reason why everything is better than hondas/acuras is because they make more torque. and everyone one knows torque wins races : insert roll eyes smiley here: . so despite have horespower number close to what the itr has when the torque number are higher then its gotta be faster.

Because they've never driven a real Type R. Pretty much anyone who really drives an ITR, regardless of what brand they prefer, admits that the ITR, even in bone stock form, is probably the best FWD car ever produced.
You know how people are...
The latest Sentra SE-R has a nice motor, but other than that--that's it. The gearbox sucks, the rear is a horrible beam axle, etc.
The older SE-Rs were nice cars in their day, but they were also faced with suspension issues and a flimsy chassis (again though, good motor). I still think the 92-93 Integra GS-R's were a better car in the day, but the GS-R didn't receive as much press and it was more expensive.

I see this a lot too. but torque does win races
the 350Z Nismo has torque. its nice to barely touch the gas and the car just wants to go. the only problem is that its pretty heavy, which is probably why it has torque because it NEEDS it lol. bleh its all relative to certain situations and variables that makes all this fun and challenging.
