is there a way to pop the hood even though my hood latch is broken? its the one inside the car, not the very front one (dont know specific names, i just call them both latches).
btw, car is a 92 civic dx 4dr

 

im assuming you can still see the hood latch cable? its sleeved in black and has a metal cylinder at the end of it.

anyways take some channel locks (pliers) and grab the actual cable, you may have to take off some of the black sleeve. then pull on it you will hear the hood release.

i've been having to do this since i got my ef, i just recently got the new cable with latch release assembly but its annoying to put together.

 

i dont see the cable, im assuming the last owner chopped it off or something. any other ways?

ok well is the release lever still there? but no calbe attached to it or what?

look around behind the fuse box to see if maybe the cable was tucked under there for some reason and also on the left side of the floorboard, up near the fuse box on the left there is a hole with a rubber grommet that holds the calbe in from the engin compartment.

see if thats there. if for some reason its not then look in the front of the car under the Honda emblem thru the front grill and see if you can see the cable, if you can pull on it with pliers.

 

nope, nothing near the fuse box or anything. theres anothing dx right next to this one i looked at for reference on the hood latch cable, and cant seem to find it on the one im trying to open. i wonder if they cut it and just put it some where, or whats going on... its weird O_o
