Default h22a w/ Jun 3s, dome top valves, head milling?

Alright so for reasons I won't even bring up at this point (lol), I ended up having to pull my head. Of course, just like most of you guys here, we all have the "well now that I'm already in here..." syndrome.

I've already ordered a set of dome top valves from DH-Racing (yeah I know, I know). So far, I've had very good luck with Dave (knocks on wood), and I am not the least bit detered from doing business with him again.

I also have decided that I would like to mill the head a smidge, maybe around .020 or so.

Has anyone, ANYONE had experience with the lift/duration of the JUN h22 cams and even the slightest bit of milling?

I'm going with an OEM gasket, so no surprises there. In theory, JUNs aren't as wild as many of the other cams people use (Crower or Skunk2). So maybe h22ers with wild *** cams and .020 or higher head milling could chime in? Pretty please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BTW: Claying really isn't an option at this point, so I'd like to figure out where my safe zone is, so I can keep my fat *** well within that spec.

You know whats hilarious? The fact that none of you guys have used, touched, or even seen these valves in person. And yet that doesn't prevent you from vomiting your biased and worthless opinions all over them.

I honestly thought I wouldn't run into the same bandwagon internet forum BS that I have seen everywhere else. I really thought more of H-T.

So much for assumptions.

It's really hard to get a good shot of these babies, but from what I can tell, they seem to be really nice quality. They're also lighter than stock as you can see from the other thread.

i guess the dome doesnt look that high, hard to tell but about .01" roughly. if the head is thinner that might put it back at about stock length. so i guess that answers any misconceptions i had about clearance issues. but if you've got a set of calipers and can compare the overall length of those to stock valves, that would be cool.

in the third pick, what are those weights you have written down? im guessing the valves, because when i weigh a stock valve i get, 52.8g on the intake and 47.4g on the exhaust.

Yup. that's exactly what I got basically...

Stockers:

IN: 52.7g
EX: 47.8g

DH-Racing:

IN: 49.0g
EX: 45.2g

So the DH valves are a bit lighter.

heh. Though I might update you guys a little on how these turned out. I'm not going to point any fingers here. There are a lot of factors that could have lead to the destruction of this motor. I am only going to post pictures of the carnage at this point. I have not made any assumptions as to whether the DH valves are to blame.

Oh and also for the record, the head was NOT milled.

Anyway, here we go;

haha....notice the missing valve stuck in the crater it created in the piston:

Nope lol

For the record though, the motor did run fine for a few months without issues.

thats exactly what happens when you deal w/ dh racing

it couldnt have turned out any other way, your motor was doomed for failure as soon as you installed those valves

I have other DH parts that I don't mind/haven't given me issues. But yeah, that's the last time I use anything internally. Only so much can go wrong with a throttle body (knocks on wood).
