What difference does replacing the cap+rotor make? The mechanic shop recommended that as part of the tune-up.

There are a couple here: http://www.rockauto.com/catalo...28016
I wonder if the remanufactured ones are OEm or not.

What are the symtops of a bad dizzy? I have en ever so slight hesitation at low rpms in certain situations that I'm trying to narrow down. The only parts that werent swaped with the new JDM engine is the dizzy, fuel filter, and altanator. I already have a autozone fuel filter I plan on installing soon. Sorry to get off topic.
hesitation, then check engine light w/hesistation, then misfiring, depending on how long you drive with a bad one - thats how it went out the prelude and i replaced with OEM.
On the accord it just went out one day completly, no symtoms. In this case the car cranked all day long, but did not fire. You start to smell gas. I replaced that one with a "Distributor King" = Brand Name, dizzy=distributor.

Dorman brand new from O'Reilly about 3 years ago. Still works fine and no O Ring leaking either. I agree though alot of aftermarket parts are crap but I was in a bind and low on cash so I took a chance. I also have a spare ignitor module just in case the one I have in the car stops working.
My car very seldomly wont crank. I have to wait about a min or so before it will crank. Is that the dizzy or coil? I want to use the h22 internal coil dizz but I dont know how. Any info?
the distributor in my old civic si went bad and I replaced it with a Distributor King unit. i think it was a great product and would recommend it to everyone.
but yes, you cant beat OEM, at least when it comes to Honda.

Won't crank, or won't turn over. You need to be specific in what you are saying man. If it turns over and over but won't actually start, that is most likely the main relay. If you can see oil in the area under your (dizzy), then you do need a new one. If there is no oil, but you can verify that it is not the main relay, then you should try to source a known good ignitor module. Good luck man.
speaking of oem distributor. hap and sl honda no longer sell the unit as a whole. does anyone know a site that still sells the complete distributor?
