Default Hesitant throttle response? 10000% Gone gone GONE!

Not my car.. I hail from the Integra forum.. but my buddy Dustin has an 07 SI Sedan. He had read about this throttle body spacer from P2R.

It had a lil port for a nitrous nozzle already pre-drilled and he was looking for something else to do for his car, so he figured why not?

A couple of pics from the install..
His throttle body spacer:

HIm installing it:

Results? Can't tell any diff in power (though dyno's are showing 3-5 hp gaines at the wheels) but the hesitant throttle response IS GONE!

It revs like a normal car now. You stomp the gas and the RPM goes up immediately. His brother also has an 07 SI. If you would like video of the difference, I can get it. His brother is ordering one too because it's so much better. Hell, I've only drove his car a few times and I can tell a difference.

I'm in no way affiliated with P2R or any product what-so-ever. I"m simply letting you guys know that there's a fix for the laggy throttle response from the drive-by-wire system. My awesome integra (read sarcasm, please) doesn't need any better throttle response and honestly until this, I thought TB spacers to be a waste. In this case, it's not.

Enj0y!

Does he have any other mods? Or just the TB spacer?

Yeah, no write up. I have the write ups in my thread on my own car.. Though I did detail clearing the corner lights on my friends 07 SI

I'll try and remember to get some comparison video this weekend. I"ll update for ya'll.

I don't think that this TB spacer is the only reason why your friends "lag" is gone. The DC sports header helps your car breathe easier which would make your engine rev a little smoother. Also the short ram intake also makes your car's throttle response better than stock.

I don't see why a header making engine revs smoother would help eliminate the lag of the t/b? I have heard many good things about the spacer, I'm sure the sri helps as well..

my friend has the dcrh, evo2, and injen cai and the lag is still there. i thought the p2r was going to improve throttle response but someone told me it was just to absorb the heat. after reading this review i'll def inform him about it.

thanks for the review

True, it does breathe better with the mods.. But he had the lag BEFORE he put the TB spacer on (like, when he turned his car off) and not AFTER (when he cranked it up). He had the header and intake on the whole time, before and after the TB spacer.

I think he bought it off of 8th gen civic.. It cames with 2 gaskets. $80.00 or something like that.

My buddy's research said 3-5 hp.. from individual dyno's. I find that hard to belive, personally. But it seems to do something so, hey, why not? I guess the dynos can;t lie too much

I bought mine from robearracing.com and it was 72 without gaskets and 107 shipped with two gaskets. Lowest price I found. They were also the only ones that had the blue one. If you want a link to the page on 8th PM me.

My buddy with this civic got his Cold air intake in Monday.

I assume he'll be installing it this weekend. I"ll update with any problems.

Also...I'm sure it was due to the heat/humidity of Florida/Georgia weather.. but he went to the track last sat and his best time was 14.6 @97.

3 tenths and 2 MPH slower.. And that was his best. Slowest was 14.8 @ 95 or 96.

I'm sure it was heat, but the only mod he's done since his last race was the TB spacer.. and stickier tires

Here's the install on the CAI.

They touch slightly.. but not a problem. The problem was the plug for the mass air interfering with the shifter linkage.

Couple of video's up soon.

**eDIT** note.. sorry the color is off. That happens sometimes with my little camera.

Video of problem we ran into with the mass air plug. At the end, he says "Vodka" but it was just nasty berry juice

Video of how the CAI sounds and whatnot.
