Default Do my eyes decieve me?

Does my 93 Hatch VX not have a Catalytic Converter? I just realized after working on my car today there wasnt one. Any1 know whats the deal?

I also looked on the parts diagram and didnt see one.

Firts of all what motor do you have in it. If it is stock it should have a d15b7 if im not mistaken and the cat sits right under the exhaust manifold, not under the car like other cats.

Close, it's a D15Z1.
But yes the cat is in that location, right in front of the engine.

D15B7 was in the 92-95 DX.

LOL. Yeah the b7 has like 90 horses right and the z1 has like 75 and has like the best gas milage.

amazing how the newer cars are bragging about 32mpg now... even under the new rating system that dropped a few mpg.

As far as the VX's mpg, I'm convinced they fudged those numbers. I never got that low when I drove mine.

Ha yeah honda was getting better mpg 15 years ago. Now they got all these "hybrids" some that still don't get 37 city. LOL

The main reason why mpg dropped is because of weight and all the luxury items that come standard on all cars now a days. Back then no powe steering and no ac was not a problem. But now, I doubt that ay cars come off the lot without them. Plus hybrids are way heavier than a regular civic.
