Cat Converter
I have a 1996 Civic Dx. My car has a straight pipe and my smog is coming up.
I still have the stock DX headers. but i dont have a cat under the car. Will a universal magnaflow cat pass me. Are Ex/SI cats interchangeable with Dx?

That is 100% correct, the ex. manifold and cat on the 96 DX are attached as a single unit which is followed by the flex pipe. So if you still have the stock mani on there, you should have a cat. It's easy to tell... Pop the hood & look straight down at the front of your engine. You should see the ribbed cat in the front right below the mani. It's about 2-3 inches below the O2 sensor.
