Default how bad is it to run with a colder thermo

I bought a colder thermo I heard running a colder engine gives you more power? How could using the colder thermostat(160deg) hurt my engine? or anything else?

It wont hurt your engine, but i dont see it giving you any more power either.

If your engine runs colder than it should I heard your oil turns into sludge faster. As for gaining power, a slightly lower temp. will make it run more efficiently but you wont see much of a gain unless you plan on doing an endurance race.

Honda engines already run cold from the factory, you're not helping anything if you dont have a massively modified engine. I would stick with an OE thermostat myself.

180 is the normal temp. I just want to know what all could happen by running a colder thermo. I want to put it in because my car wants to rev limit at 3.5k only when its warmed up. So I thought I could lower the temperature permanently to fix the problem. I don't care about this motor, if it blows it blows, but I don't want it to keep restricting me at 3.5 every now and then. I'm just gunna throw the thermostat in. Any more information on what running on a colder engine can cause. Is it bad to start your car in the cold and just start racing right away? what can happen?

You could blow your engine by beating on it cold, but you probaby won't. Your engine shouldn't lower your rev limit to 3.5k, and getting a colder thermostat won't stop that anyway. Your ecu has a coolant temperature check, which should only stop you from going into VTEC like mine does.

My engine likes to rev limit when its warmed up and when im pushing it, it doesnt do it when its cold and im pushing it. It goes in to limp mode or something with no cel. A colder thermostat= colder coolant going through the engine= colder engine. I dont have vtec hooked up so i dont care if the engine isnt warm enough for vtec.
