B16 in civic dx wont start please help amatuer
Hello everyone,
Im having a problem and i dont know where to look. I have bought a B16a and put it in my 91 civic hatch. I bought a wiring harness that was converted for me with the four injectors and vtec wires which i wired to the ecu I rechecked and the wires were correctly placed on the ecu. When i go to start the engine it cranks but doesnt backfire or start or even try. I do have fuel(also shot ether in still no backfire), checked compression, injector wires are firing, and i have spark. I dont know if I wired connected a wire wrong in the engine bay to one of the sensors or if the timing is off...If anyone has a clue it would be apprciated.....

yes it was wired to mpfi, timing was set proberly... My problem was that I didnt let it crank enough I found out from a tech that does this stuff all the time that the jdm b16's are hard to turn over.....he told me to let the starter crank the engine for 5 minutes or so until it wants to turn over, I let it crank and crank and crank and started to hear it want to do something, didnt let off then finally after 1min 30 it turned over and didnt cut off. The engines started now, but it is running a little rough hard to tell the symtoms any idea why it would be running rough?
i had that problem yesterday. here is what you can try. you might need two ppl but have someone crank your engine until the two arrows on your cam gears are pointing straight up which is called TDC and when they are up take off your dizzy cap and check if the little metal piece is facing toward the number one cylinder please make sure your firing order is correct.
