Default buttonwillow experience!

i would like to share my experience of my first trip to buttonwillow raceway park (first trip to any track actually). frank, yoshi, dan, rob, and probably others, have already done their take on the buttonwillow track day this past weekend. but i just wanted to share as someone new to the sport.

i didn't get to drive my r on the course yesterday. for one, i'm way to scared to do it. not because it'll ruin my car (i admit, i used to worry about that), but because of the speed. we all like to drive fast, but doing it on the track seems way more humbling. but i'm sure as i attend more track events, driving my car or not, the fear will subside and i'll make the jump.

this car gets so much praise from the racing community, it's almost blasphemy to not bring it to the track at least once, to see what this thing is made of. over the past few months, i have been learning a lot about my car, and meeting many new faces, who share the same interests. it's great!

kepani-who felt that heading up to BW was a milestone in his car-ownership career

thx to syrinx for making me deaf for $330

I took it to Buttonwillow on May 10 with honda.hybrids.jp crew.

It was my first track event and it was AWESOME. I definately had a blast. I had a couple of real nice people squeeze me into that event since I was the last entry.

I had alot of track time (almost 2.5hrs). Bumping other cars WASNT a worry at all. I dont know how they do it with NASA, but in the event I went to, they just seperated each car by 5 seconds. So you can go on your own pace without being intimidated with a following car.

Kepani, Im going to watch an event at Willowsprings in Rosamond, CA on August. Me and a few others on Hondatech are planning on watching if you want to come down.

BTW, do you have any pictures of this past event. Pictures are fun.

kepani,
Wait till you get out on the track, hear the motor rev, hear the tires screech, and your adrenaline starts pumping! IMO definitely one of the best experiences in life

Yoshi, nice video. Is that you driving? I did a similiar thing on that SAME exact turn going CCW. Except I entered the apex to early and swung out too far. It resulted my back right tire grabbing dirt.

I didnt spin and I did gain control.

it first I would say the music from the game SpyHunter.... but after the dust issue... maybe something a bit ruder.
