Car Battery
I have a 99 Civic LX . I had engine oil replaced today and they looked at the battery. They told me I need to replace the battery.
This is the information they gave me:
The battery is rated at 650CCA.
Voltage at 12.83V.
Measured at 347CCA.
Temperature at 26 degrees Celsius.
Should I replace the battery??

It doesn't seem you need to replace it. Your battery is at normal. Probably the only thing I can see wrong if the battery doesn't hold a charge or is constantly loosing charge. Then I would recommend changing the battery.

I believe 347CCA is what they tested the battery at, because when you do a load test on a bettery you use half of the CCA rating on the battery to perform the test. But I agree with "inspiration" if it doesn't hold a charge or looses charge frequently I would change it. Or check for a constant load on the battery. Example: Stereo Amp etc.
Well, to do it right they should have disconnected the battery cables and then removed any surface charge, then load tested the battery. Energizer, I guess they are good, I use Interstate, some people just go with what they can get at Oreilly, Auto Zone or Wal-Mart. Just depends on your budget and what is available. 347 out of 650 not to good IMO. My battery is a 500 CA with 625 CCA. I would call who did it and ask if it was tested at 347 CCA or if that is what it produced on the test.

So, if yours tested at 347 then I would replace it. It is probably on its last leg.

If you haven't had any problems with starting don't change it. You can always take it a local Autozone/Advanced to take a look at it. Probably just trying to make some money off you.

One problem that I have noticed recently is that when I'm running out of fuel (when my tank is less than 25%), it's hard to start the car. It makes that sound like the car doesn't wanna start. When I fill up the tank the car starts normal. Is this related in anyway to the battery dying.
Fuel gauge reading correctly?
Sending unit faulty?
Could just be that you are almost out of fuel and the gauge is reading wrong.
If all is good there then could possibly be
the pickup tube on the fuel pump, might have a hole in the tube or fallen off and only sucks what fuel it can while covered.

I looked at the OEM battery in my car today and at the top of the battery it says 410 Cold Cranking Amps. I'm not sure why the mechanic wrote the battery is rated at 650 CCA.
The mechanic wrote the battery is measuring 347CCA. So, 347CCA out of 410CCA that's 85%. Based on this I would think the battery is still good. Am I right guys??

As a general rule you need min. 1 CCA to start 1 c.i. of motor.
1.6 liter=96 c.i. so dont replace your battery until you notice a decline in its performance. If it makes it to this next winter, then repace it as winter on a weakened battery is bad news.
