Default ring on the end of drive shaft axle,, is it important?

changing my axles/driveshafts on my 96 accord, and was wondering if those rings that go at the end of the axle, (the part that conects inside) are those important to keep in < or can you go without them? reason is its a PIT to put the new ones on> thanks

um the new ones should already have them on there. But i would keep them on because it helps hold the axles in.

I would definitely keep it in. like 100%. As 92JDMCB7 said, helps hold the axle in (to the tranny) It's there for a reason. You don't want the axle suddenly falling off. So yes, if the new shaft doesn't have a ring, take out the old one. If you don't have the old one, buy the ring.
