Need help, having problems running welder
I bought a Sync. 200 about two years ago and unfortunately never had enough time to use it. I recently had a friend install a 240v single phase and decided to mess around with the welder over the weekend. The welder turns on, but I can't get it to strike an arc. It doesn't do anything, but I do hear the postflow when I release the pedal. Do you guys have any suggestions as to why the welder doesn't strike an arc? Could it be that the 240 single phase wasn't installed properly or a possible grounding problem? Any suggestions? Thank you.

My friend didn't touch any of the settings on the machine. When you select the TIG process on the sync. 200, a non contact arc starting method is automatically activated.
