What's going on here? More importantly, how bad is it?

It would have broken off long before I got this transmission. I imagine somewhere back in JDMland. Sorry.

its obviously an LSD tranny since you can see all the way through. How would that effect it being broken or not...?

the only thing i see is possibly your seal on the pictured side looks a little off and could leak but otherwise everything looks fine
