b16 is in....cylinders #2 and #4 getting no spark
just installed a b16 into my 91 civic standard.
starts fine, idles fine, but is bogging heavy under 5000 rpms...so i pull the plugs to look at them and cylinder #2 and #4 are super black...so black that they are getting no spark (i checked with the timing light).
so i clean off the plugs and throw them back in...cylinder #2 and #4 fire correctly for only about 1 minute before they stop firing again because of black buildup on them again.
i replaced the wires, plugs, and distributor and am still having the same problem. timing is dead on. any ideas???????

injectors stuck open ??? **** I hope everything is ok. It does sound like a fuel issue. like the injectors are just dumping fuel in and running really rich in 2 and 4. Did you doubble check you injector wiring.

Did you swap the wiring or are you still running Dual Point Injection wiring? If so that is your problem or you may have wired it incorrectly. Don't take offense just trying to help w/o knowing what has or has not been done. Also do you have the proper injector resistor box? Or as previously mentioned it may be bad injectors but unlikely. Good luck.
i did the wiring myself...but have done a dpfi to mpfi swap already in my other car. I just used the 2 dx injector wires for cylinders #1 and #3 and ran two new wires for cylinders #2 and #4. Also added in the injector resistor box.
I know that the cylinders are getting fuel (too much) because the plugs are super black. How could i know that the injectors are stuck open? Any other ideas?
