Default Hot air coming through the vents (90 Accord)

While driving a Honda I bought I noticed that there is hot air seeping through the vents. Neither the A/C or Defrost or any of the air controls are turned on and the **** is actually set to cold. The A/C doesn't even work on the car. The light and fan works but no cold air. My main concern is seeing if someone can help me figure out why there is hot air coming through the vents while driving the car. Thanks for your help!

Verify the condenser is working and recharge the system?

I will later but why would there be warm air just coming through the vents when nothing is turned on?

Because it's venting from the engine bay/outside?

It's a 17+ year old car haha, the seals on stuff aren't perfect

Then what do I need to look for to fix this problem? Which seals and where are they located?

to get the ducting out you need to pull the dash, than right behind the middle part is going to be all the doors to send air the vents and stuff. you can reseal them with cheap foam with double sticky tape. or you can not spend 3 hours on something that may or may not work and roll your windows down

I would suggest that you could check that the heater control valve, [underhood near the firewall] sometimes the cable is out of adjustment and allows hot coolant to seep thru the heater core.

Set the system to recirculate instead of fresh air. That should keep the hot air from coming in from the engine bay.

^^^^^^^^ X2

That makes a difference. Even if the **** is set on cold and on off and its set on outside air it will always blow warm air into the car while driving.

Before going and fixing all the seals and everything make sure its not just something simple, my thought: make sure the button on the dash is set to the recycle air feature then because if it is set to fresh air no matter if the a/c or anything like that is on air will come through those vents and if its hot outside it'll be hot air coming through if its cold outside (depending on the engines temperature) you'll get cold air...

Sorry if that's doesent work for you, cause after that I dunno what else to do haha
