Default loose cam gear bolts = valve contact?

moved my car in the driveway and just started to hear a taping noise shut it off on the spot and investigated and found out my all my cam gear bolts loosend up causing the exhaust gear to switch timing. the gear says +15 or -15on each end .so im wondering if it moves all the way in either direction will the valves contact the piston causing the taping noise or maybe i was hearing the gear jerking back and fourth. i set the gear correct and car sounds fine but now im worried about the valves

thats a large possibility, find out why the slipped.

do a compression test

i would just take the head off to inspect the valves.

i just got this motor back together and was moving the car out of the garage so the car never went aver 2000 rpm the clicking noise only happened about 10 times before i got the car turned off .there was no lock tight on the exhast cam bolts thats why they came loose.
