Should I use inverted tie rod ends on my 2002 Acura EL?
Hi there....
just finishing up my Civic 4DR EX (SOHC VTEC motor) DD
all that is left is the suspension, so this is what has been done:
Lowering springs + Tokico D-Spec shocks = 1.9 Drop front & Rear
Replaced upper and lower ball joints
Running 15's for now on 205/55/15
now last thing to do before sending it to the alignment shop is the Tie Rods.
I read the FAQ and it says inverted Tie Rods can be found on the EP3 civic aka 03+ Civic Si I believe
but confused are these bolt-on or do I have to more so I can run these?
any advantage to them?
or
at the drop I am at, is it better to run the application suited for my car?
Thank you

Well, first of all, you don't have an "Upper ball joint" on your car. You have a MacPherson setup, which lacks those.
Secondly, with that drop, you won't necessarily NEED inverted tie rod ends unless you plan on tracking the car heavily. After about 2" of drop, I'd say it'd be a wise investment. They're designed to prevent bump steer, and do quite well on track applications. (PS. They're not a Honda offered product, they're aftermarket.)
