have you check the power on the dimmer switch plug?

My car does the same thing. If all fuses are good, could be a loose connection or a climate control thats going bad

Mine is exactly the same, the temp and fuel gauage dims down though when the lights are on, any way to adjust it to become brighter?

I'm having the same problem. I checked all the fuses on my car, and they're all good. I'm stumped on what to do.

someone on another site told me that if its not the dimmer switch, or the dimmer relay(i already replaced both) that it is the illumination control module, dont know whether tats right or not tho

second to last picture looks quite scarey, my gauges were like that for a couple of months till one night coming back from class I started to see smoke coming from my oil and gas gauges then some sparks. after that it was completely dead

I'm having similar issues as well.

I don't know the exact details of my problems yet, as I'm still in the final phases of a build...so I haven't paid enough attention to the dash to take mental notes of anything.

I think that some lights were dim, some were bright, some didn't work...and turning the headlights made some changes to those.

I'll post later tonight with more details on what happens with headlights on and off...and maybe try to come up with some possible causes.

Okay, This is crazy. I still have the same problem and i checked everything out. I checked all fuses, even the small light fuse under the hood. Re-checked the dimmer switch and got nothing. I'm afraid this will take my wallet by having a Tech look at it but there has got to be a logical fix, especially since this is obviously a common problem. i'll keep digging and i hope you all will do the same so we can crack this one for the site.

I have the same problems except it's with the clock and speed cluster, the fuel and temp are fine... mine isn't as dim but it's noticeable. I'll try to look through the helms to see if i find anything.

Any progress on this one?

I guess I have the same problem; When I turn the headlights on and the 'main' meters lights come on, all other dash lights go dimmer. ...or is it supposed to do that??

Same Problem guys, gas and temp work but dim when i turn lights on. Speedo works but doesn't light up at all. Someone mentioned that it might be something to do with the climate control? This didn't take place until I 'fixed' my climate control unit. Any idea how these might be related? Does aaaaanyone out there know how to fix this?!

The Helms manual might help you all out...

Helped me with tracing my ABS issues
