Problem?
To start off i just picked up a civic wagon for free... had a cracked camshaft so i replaced the motor... put in a d16z6 but kept the dpfi... dont want vtec or anything just need it to get back and forth to work... put the motor in and tried to start it and it wouldn't click over so i went to check out the motor bay and herd the fuel flowing through so i thought... but it was actually just the top injector staying on the whole time... so it filled up the cylinders full of fuel... to the plugs out and cleared the cylinders out of the remaining fuel... but when ever i turn the key the injector keeps on flowing fuel... took the return line off the pressure regulator and no fuel is coming out... what do you think is the problem??
Thanks
Thanks
Im not exactly sure how the dpfi injectors work, but if its like the mpfi, either the injector is bad or the wire going to the injector is grounded out somewhere causing it to stay on.
Check all the grounds on the engine, if theyre ok then check the injector wiring, if its fine, change the injector.
The manual also says it might be a problem with the ECU but that would be the last thing i would change. That is of course if youre already running the DPFI ecu, you didnt swap it, right?
