Default Dignal Dash controls

I want to first appologize in the event that his has already been discussed. In which case I'd hope someone can point me to a specific thread that covers this topic. However my internet time is pretty limited being deployed here in Iraq. I've poked around but have not found anything specific to what I'm looking for. Perhaps I'm not using the proper terminology as I'm new to the Honda scene.

What I'm specificly looking for is what inputs does the stock ECU need in order to properly drive the digital dash features of the new Si? Reason I ask is I'm looking at either adapting KPro to the car while having the stock ECU monitor the inputs it needs to properly run the dash while having the Kpro handle all the outputs and allow a "tune-able" solution.

That or do the same thing however run a MoTeC M400.

Thanks guys!

I'm going to say that the ecu probably doesn't do any pre-processing for the display. The digital display more than likely is it's own separate embedded device that just requires a sensor output signal, You would probably just need to make sure you're getting the same signal info from the engine and trans that would normally be required, I don't think you should need the stock ecu for that.

From the reading I've done (I don't actually have the car, just researching) it has been posted far and wide that you will lose dash functionality if the OEM ECU is removed form the car (ie: your typical Kpro swap)

^^i heard the same. somebody on here said the car need to be re-wired in order for kpro to work, but im not sure as to what wires need to be tampered with. but the dash i think u lose the speed or something. either the speed or tach since its the only 2 clusters in the car.

Yes this does happen, the fuel guage and temp guage will still work but no tach or speedo.

Besides the Digital gauges, you will also need to install a throttle cable and assembly since I don't believe the KPro will work with DBW. I am not sure.
