Well i just bought my EJ2 yesturday and some guy pulls up and jumps out of his car and runs up and tells me that the car that i just purchased is his.... i was thinking to myself, "wtf" and was like dam i been screwed over... The guy who sold me the car bought it in a auction, and he has the papers... the guy who ran up to me told me that he went to New York and came back and that his car was gone, and now he justs wants to take the car back like that...I'ma have to talk to the guy who sold it to me cause he has the papers in hand, but he's not gonna be at his shop til tuesday...so now i have to wait and see what will happen to it. just hope we can straightin things out

Make sure he has the cops there with him if you have to hand it over.

 

 

did you ask the guy that claimed it was his to show you paperwork? like the title?

 

i dont know what the laws are like there, but here in Alberta a car becomes the property of the impound lot if it has been abandoned for 90 days. Likely his car got towed for whatever reason and he never contacted the police. it happens. If the guy that sold it to you had legit papers, you did nothing wrong and the car is rightfully yours. I wouldnt hand it back to him, I might offer to sell it back to him. just check things out and make sure its legitimately yours.

X2 Just make sure your not going to be out any money when you got paper work and all. GL with trying to get things figured out.

you didnt get any kind of paperwork when you bought the car? thats the first thing i would have asked for. the guy could of said he had a shop, and by tuesday when you go back to get your paperwork, hes halfways acrost the country with your money and hes just gonna steal another car. my friend just lost his car because it got impounded then he couldnt get it out because 3 owners back still had the title. so he lost his money and the car. watch out for that stuff. either way, your in for a fight.

 

i'd pull the ecu out and lock the steering column everytime you get out of your car..you never know if he has a spare key

1. the guy is closed today cause it's memorial day thing
2.he has the papers and just need to give them to me to fill them out.
3. it has no ecu it was cut and not there so i am currently looking for one.
4. i would never hand him over the car right just after i payed for it...
5. didn't even think bout asking for the papers from the guy that wants his car.

if you registered the car in your name already and you have more then one verifible matching chassis vins as on the title them [freak] that guy. he lost it some how. **** he could have lost it do to parking tickets and now is trying to get it back. [freak] him if you got the above stated

 

BS- what are the chances that same day, that guy pulls up and jumps out of his car, claiming its his? Is it a mobile rice plantation? If this is true, maybe the guy is trying to jack you, which is 80% the case, OR you bought a stolen car from a chop shop proxy.

well he wont get it now,, to let everyone up to date, i painted it so he doesn't know bout that.... and I'ma get it registered tuesday, and he did lose it by somehow and i took off the dizzy and yes the plugs were cut but got new ones just need to mickey mouse them....,and the car was riced now it's JDM, ALL THE WAY....., well the unique thing was that i was yellow and had a red door, but now it's all black...

 

your doing things really quick to it. He will see it next time and probably cry. Well you got the car fair and square so GL with it.
