I just bought my first Honda!!

I just installed a new stereo, then went to install the speakers from my last car...uh oh!! Didn't work.

Everywhere I've read, it seems to be that 6x9's should work in the rear. They didn't fit! The srew holes on the speakers don't match up with the holes on the car. They seem too small.
Am I doing something wrong, or do I need new speakers?

Also, there is a "mini-amp" or "pre-amp".
My new speakers have the positive and negative wires.
But the car has the pre amp, and instead of splicing the cables, there is a plug.

How do I do this??
I have only installed a stereo once, and I had a lot of help. I know how to do it if there is nothing out of the ordrinary...I just know the basics pretty much.

 

I really can't help you with the amp question, but are you sure that the rear speakers you took out of your other car are 6x9s? I just installed some 6x9s and the mounting holes lined up perfectly. The old speakers might be 5x7?

Did you take off the bracket off the old speakers?

As far as that plug instead of regular speaker wires, I guess what I need is a speaker wiring harness?

I can't find one for sale where I live, only online. But I work at Best Buy, and I'm sure the guys out back in the Install Bay have one lying around.

What size speakers are the door speakers? I'm hoping my old system will fit...looking to spend as little money as possible. broke.
