Today I purchased an ITR long block from a salvage yard in PA. I actually bought quite a few parts that this person was selling on ebay. I bought some door panels, front and rear seats, head liner, driver and passenger doors, front lip, and some other misc items (my 98 ITR is pushing 150k miles and its always nice to have spare parts laying around). This morning I went to pick up everything in person. Before making the purchase I asked to see verification that the parts were in fact clean, and not from a stolen ITR. The guy brought me out back to show me what was left of the ITR. It had been in a pretty serious rear end collision that left the trunk crushed in. The front of the car was not damaged at all. He then printed out a copy of the salvage auction listing (with photo) where they purchased the car. It was from VA and looked very familiar. It had Racing Hart 17's and the OEM body kit and instantly I knew I had seen it before...I realized that it belonged to a fellow female H-T member (I'm just not sure what her name is on here) who had caravan'ed with us to Expo last year. I was able to confirm this when I came home and looked through old Expo 7 pics (seen above).
So to the owner of the deceased ITR, I just want to say that I am sorry for your loss and I hope that you werent injured in the accident. I want you to know that your ITR's spirit is going to continue to live on inside my 98 ITR. Also, Thank you for keeping your car so clean while you had it

A few people have been asking if I'm interesting in selling various items. Unfortunately, the answer is NO
A lot of these parts (such as the doors), are very rare and difficult to find undamaged on wrecked ITRs, which is PRECISELY the reason that I bought them...just in case I ever need them. Hope you guys will understand.Modified by JOHN WAYNE at 8:56 AM 5/25/2008

True story. I'm sad to read this- she and her boyfriend were both very cool. I hope they are both alright. I guess they won't be back at expo.

Keep your damn arm down next time noob.
SuckMyDOHC: fill the holes in, that's what a lot of body shops do when replacing ITR doors anyways
