Default Sleeper nitrous install ideas...

I'm thinking about running a small (50HP) wet shot after I finish my swap. I want to keep everything as discrete as possible. I like 95greenlude's idea of placing the solenoids under the fuse box to keep them as out of sight as possible. I'm going to try mounting the nozzle on the bottom of the intake tube. Next step is location of the bottle... The kit comes with a 10lb bottle which I most likely will sell. I currently have the whole top piece of my 92 rear console removed so I was looking into squeezing a bottle down there. From the rough measurements I have taken and compared to the bottle dimensions listed in the NOS catalog, I may be able to fit a 5lb bottle if I remove the metal cage. If I wanted retain the cage I would have to use a 2.5lb bottle. Anyone ever gone this route or have any suggestions? I think the old "sex blocker" may have some use after all. I will try to post a full list of bottle dimensions, console measurements, and pictures if it would help. I know someone has had to try this before me. If I can get the 5lb to fit I plan on removing the bottom tray of the console from the lid and reinstalling the lid and lock assembly over the bottle. Any past trial and errors or speed bumps run into would be greatly appreciated.

i have no experience with nos, but i used to hear of fanboy stories about something called the "sneaky pete" nitrous setup. i think it was an undermounted on the IM and the bottle was small enough to fit behind the deck... dunno tho, im not ready to play with laughing gas yet

Sneeky Pete is nice, only problem is that its a dry kit with an extremely small bottle. Also, is only works with a carb. I'm not necessarily looking for a 100% invisible kit. I just want to make it as discrete as possible while using a full featured wet kit. I don't want it to draw any attention of the cops or would be thieves. I took a few rough pictures and measurements and this is what I came up with.

Inside of the cage- approx 19 1/2in x 5in
If the cage was removed- approx 21-22in x 5 1/2in

5lb bottle- 16.75in x 5.25
2 1/2lb bottle- 11.5 x 4.375

i forget what company makes it, but there is a 20 ounce bottle out there that is so small you can jam it in your glove box.

Well not the prelude glove box, I can barely fit my registraion and insurance card in that thing they call a glove box.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the install pics, love the way you set everything up. I might just use the 10lb and buy a plain black bottle cover or build my own little cover. Only thing that kind of confused me a little was the use of of the horn wiring...

get like 5 of those little bottles and hide them under your passanger seat.....if you have to access it, your seat will be on hinges from the front

i wouldnt even try to be sneeky with a bottle, just dont pop your trunk

Sorry I'm not Paul Walker... I wasn't trying to get that into it lol. I just got a good deal on a kit off eBay and I wanted to do a clean install. I was planning on using your idea for the solenoids from the beginning. I was just curious if anyone had bottle ideas. But from what I hear, even with a 50 shot anything less than a 10lb bottle would be useless after one or two passes. I never expected to use nitrous but the price was right. I'll just take the bottle out when I'm not using it.

Well I figure I'm already running a step colder plug, I'm going to throw on a nitrous regulator and a RPM window switch and call it a day.

I would run sneaky petes....there is a large area where your windshield wiper motor is that would be perfect for 2-3 sneaky petes. You cound literally hide everything....I have always wanted to do a nitrous install and put the Nitrous bottles in there.

that would be a PITA to get to when you needed them filled. I personally wouldnt go through the effort.

i know a couple of guys here that have put their nitrous bottle under the dash. short nitrous line, AND its hidden

From what I calculated, it was about 1lb/10sec @ 100shot.
