Default ignition coil problems...i think

ok so im new to honda's let alone import (last car was a 1993 camaro) anyways here my problem, i changed the spark plugs found on the 4th one, changed it ran it and no more oil came back, but im still have this problem, after it runs for awhile or so and i go to accle ill hit 4000 rmp and it starts to sputer, and no spark from the new plug after i tested it, so my question is, is it the coil after all or something else?

ps its an Acura RSX 2002

yeah my fault i was all kinds of pissed off when i posted that.

So I changed out the spark plugs and on of them had oil on it, the car its self was running choppy at the start and after about 15 mins of running wouldnt go past 4000 rpm. So I was worried it was something major, but come to find out after replaceing the coil it runs find and no sign of oil on the plug.

Oil or gas? Because the plugs should never get oil on them. It would make more sense if it was gas that didn't burn because it wasn't sparking before you swapped coils.

If it doesn't rev past 4k, it's in limp mode. If it wasn't firing in one cyl it would run like **** and probably throw it into limp mode.

At least you found the problem easily. Mine wasn't so easy and the car's been out of commission for a week (fuel injector).

if you're getting oil in there, its either the valve cover gasket or the oil rings on the piston. What MIL/CEL code are you getting?

THis is going to be really noobish, but is their a way to check the codes without a tool, and if not what and where can I get one.

Yeah but it's easier just to get it checked at Autozone or Checker.
