i sprayed brake cleaner on the trany's throwout bearing.

it was an accident that i did it. i was curious what damage did i do and if there is anyway to fix it?

 

you can try wd-40 to get it out of there even thought wd-40 is for water displacement but you might have to re grease it cause the brake clean will most likely eat the grease out of the bearing until it grinds up or seises up

 

is the bearing openable? i thought it was sealed.

if i can open it what type of grease should i use?

 

You should be fine. You cannot open the bearing.

If you're that worried about it just replace it, they are not very expensive.

 

since i got this as part of an exedy clutch kit. would any throwout bearing also work? or are they different in specs?

 

yeah get a honda one.
