i got pulled over about a week ago because my 3rd brake light was out and my light for the license plate was on either. i changed the bulb for the brake light and then just replaced the fuse underneath the dash. now when i turn my lights on my brake lights are on all the time but just the brake lights in the taillights. when the headlights are off the brake lights work fine. i've searched and all ive found was the pedal sencor underneath the dash breaks sometimes. i checked that its not broke and the fuse in the bay isnt blown. i was messing around with some of the fuses under the dash maybe i put something in wrong?? i double checked and tripled checked everything im stumped any help would be appreciated.

 

when your headlights are on your tail lights are on anyways. they get brighter when you press on the brakes.... or am i just being stupid?

 

being stupid haha of course they come on when your lights are on but my brake lights are on as well they are bright like i am pressing the brake but im not

 

Sounds like the bulbs are in wrong. The brighter filament is burning instead of the lower one. Trick spinning the bulbs 180 degrees

 

i only replaced the 3rd brake light though not the ones in the taillights

 

I would have to say there is something going on other than you just replacing the third brake light.

 

yeah...its probly something stupid and simple. i'll try some ideas today
