bringing the thread back to life...because i wanna know too.
There is nothing wrong with AASCO flywheels.
thanks for the link dude.
I have no idea though what the difference, benifits/ disadvantages of an unsprung clutch is.
Also wondering y some are not recommending light flywheels for drag racing. The car is going to be daily driven(pretty hard) and street raced.
Isnt the comptech lighter, at 6.75 lbs. why not go lightest possible?
muchas gracias senoritas

I don't like the AASCO flywheel. If you look at the rivet patterns, many are lined up radially. The Comptech and Fidenza both use a staggered rivet pattern. I'm sure the Toda and Spoon do as well, but I know the AASCO doesn't.
Best: Comptech. (IMO)
Best for the money: Fidenza. (Again IMO)

aluminum will warp and crack causing difficulties in tran in long run. stick with a chromoly compound its strong and light and will last through daily driving. sugest JUN fly wheel or TODA can't go wrong

Super post!

Some people just simply amaze me... Sigh...
I would suggest anyone interested in lightened flywheels do a search. The topic has been covered a number of times. Pay attention to what Sgt has to say.

Get a RWD or AWD car. The ITR isn't the right car for you.
If you're going to drag race and street race you have the wrong car.

I already had my 500 hp rwd SS, if i could get it back i would, but reality just isnt that nice. 10 miles to the gallon and a louder exhaust than any street car you've ever heard just wasnt cutting it for everyday.
on the other hand, my itr gets 20-25 mpg in the city and is nice and quiet, but i cant street race it? maybe acura should tell all the other consumers who purchased an itr that they should buy a camaro or wrx.
I think the itr is the right car for me right now, but thanks for yuor input

An ITR (unless modified to the hilt) is a slow POS and you'll get WASTED in street races with any half decent car.
EDIT: You need at least 300-400 if you want to make a nice car for street racing. At least.
