Default crossmember removal? ok or not?

Ok I have searched but nothing has answer my question. Will it hurt my integra if I dont use the front croosmember, I knoe thats where my front motor mount is but could I just delete it and run it like that for awhile. I will eventually build my own but that will probably be this summer. Thanks

Im sure removing the front crossmember wouldn't be the greatest idea, im sure honda put it there for a reason, if not, they probably wouldn't have put it there. Deleting your front motor mount will cause you to lose a little torque. I've done it before and it cause the engine to shift back and forth and hit the firewall. Im guessing you're doing it for cosmetic purposes? Function>Form

DA right? that cross member is a pretty beefy piece. It acts as a big lower tie bar for the front of your car, and your front radius rods are mounted to it. it also serves as the front jack point for the car, so if you took it out, you'd have no way of stabilizing your front suspension (car could not be driven safely), and you couldn't jack up your car from the front.

Look into a "traction" bar. That will replace the entire front cross member with a brace and it has provisions for the radius rods (and gives you caster adjustment). They typically look a lot cleaner than the factory piece too.
