Ok, so I blew the engine out of my 93 SI, and I found a D16Y7 out of a 98 for dirt cheap, and I was thinking about using this temporarily. My question(s)-

Mechanics keep telling me the engine won't fit. I think they are lying.

Can I use my P28 to run the Y7?

I have to convert OBD2 to OBD1, so I use my harness and....?

the Y7 will fit in your hatch, but I recommend you use your old intake manifold and sensors and get a B7 (OBD1 non-vtec) distributor and use the p28 to keep it OBD1. Or, use the Z6 head and make a mini-me.
