Default Aerodynamics that work

I'm revamping the car a bit and was trying to get some input on aerodynamics that actually benefit. Current set up is a 95 hatch with a spoon style 'duckbill' spoiler. I have a ground effects package, but I'm getting rid of it. I'm going to stock bumper covers and side skirts. I was thinking of getting a lower air dam (like from a Chevy S-10) and bolting it to the bottom of the radiator support in order to direct air around the car. The part is cheap ($20 or so) and I don't care if it gets scraped up or even torn off if I hit some road debris. I believe the underside of the car causes quite a bit of turbulence and I'm trying to make the car more slip stream with out compromising control. I was thinking of getting rid of the duckbill spoiler as well....any suggestions? Yes, I know it's a hatch and so inherently the aerodynamics stink, but it's an acceptable trade for the cargo space. I'm currently running a K20z1 with a LSD. When I get up above 120 or so I really feel like I'm hitting 'the wall'. It would also help the gas mileage when I don't have my foot all in it. A rear diffuser is out of the question because I have a trailer hitch. Not much point cutting holes in the cover just to see a chunk of metal hitch. Putting some cheap paneling on the underside would help but I'm not sure what to use for plating. I'd prefer some type of plastic, but I don't know what. This is a daily driver that I occasionally put on the track for open days. I'm just trying to have some fun and pick up some top end MPH without sacrificing control. Thanks in advance for you constructive comments.

Not that radical, but thanks....and mine is a hatch. Yes, I know they offer such spoilers for hatches, but that's not what I'm looking for. I prefer clean functional lines.

only real way to tell=wind tunnel.

most 'aero' parts are not wind tunnel tested. I'd prefer to purchase aero parts that are

I'm dropped about 1.5-2" with Koni yellows and Neuspeed race springs. As for the wind tunnel.....wind tunnel=money....if I had money I wouldn't be driving my Civic, I'd be driving an Atom.

Bump. Anyone with constructive comments or someone who has had some trial and error with products? Recommendations?

Wrong. Hatchbacks have better COD than their coupe counterparts. Why do you think the back end of the car is shaped like a raindrop? You must be thinking about station wagons. Historically that body shape had more drag. But if it's a WRX, even that is proven false.

Get an Si/VX front lip spoiler and a VX rear diffuser and call it a day. Without a wind tunnel for testing and a background in aerodynamics, you're likely to do more harm than good.

I'm with you on the raindrop...but it doesn't come to a point like a raindrop would. Appreciate the constructive input. I wasn't familiar with a VX rear diffuser, but I'll check into it.

I agree, it isn't going to matter anyways...

Look into Spoon parts. At 120mph, the mirrors can really hurt.

Yeah, NASCAR......sorry, I turn right also. Lastly the back straight of Sebring raceway has speeds at 120 mph plus in a B18C5 type R Integra. So, having a 95 hatch and more power, better gearing, blah, blah, blah, I'd like to push the 120 plus envelope with some effectiveness. There is the occasion on the interstate that I like to push the limits as well. If it's me and no one else, then I'm taking my own risk 'street racing'. I've lost the moon roof twice since the glass pulled away from the frame. I was considering a new roof skin, but I don't want to spend all that money....besides Honda no longer offers a headliner without a moon roof (this is my grocery getter).
