Slow start on 2000 Accord Ex V6
I have noticed on colder mornings and when the car has been sitting for a couple hours, that it is taking a couple seconds for the car to start up. Its similar to when the battery is weak but in this case its not the battery (as I just got a new one). I have also noticed that the car is idling when it first starts up a bit higher then normal (around 1k) and a bit rough. I have not yet had a trouble actually getting the car to start but I am getting a bit worried in that its now becoming the norm (morning and then after work when the car has been sitting). The car starts up perfectly fine when it has been running recently. I am thinking that maybe its the starter but perhaps there is something else I should also be testing for (fuel pump?).
How old are the spark plugs?
Your post is a little confusing, is the engine cranking slower than normal, or slower than normal to start running?
One thing you can try is to turn on the key and wait 5 seconds, then crank the engine. This allows the fuel pump to build full pressure and the injectors will spray out a fine easy to ignite mist, as opposed to a low pressure dribble.

What he meant was when the car was newer, it would start within ~1/2 second, but now it takes over a second of cranking before it starts (don't quote me on the numbers). Mine does exactly the same. Just for the record, mine has 91k miles on original spark plugs.
I changed the spark plugs at 105K (now at 115K) so they should be fine. I recently changed out the timing belt, water pump, and drained the coolant. The car only takes a while to start if it has been sitting for a couple hours. The starter sounds fine so I am now thinking maybe its something else. I will let the fuel pump build pressure and see if that makes a difference.
