B16A1 NO CRANK, NO START after storing!! PLZ HELP
hi,
I have a 91 civic with a b16a1, was running in october, but in april after the amazing canadian winter, decided not to start up anymore. I use a booster pack to start it up, when the key 's in the on position, the chime's heard & the light's on the dash light up. but when I try starting it, nothing happens. Could it be a bad computer? , bads ground or bad starter?
I replaced the engine ground @ the valve cover, still the same, smacked the starter... unfortunately still the same. as for the computer, I plan on installing it in my bud's car (89 crx b16a)just to test it out.
anything additional help would be great!
Thanks!!

check the signal wire to the starter...is that plugged in?
check to see if you're getting a signal to the starters signal wire (use a test light)
if yes, the problem could be the starter, if no, your problem is before the starter such as:
Is your main relay plugged in or functioning (common problem in EF Civics & CRX's?
this is unlikely but, how is the ground at the transmission? at the thermo housing?
if it is a bad starter, you'd at least hear a click.
It's not the computer. the engine would at least turnover. (the engine will still turnover even if there's no ecu plugged in)
just to make sure, make sure the engine still spins and isn't seized. just take a wrench to the crank bolt and manually spin it a revolution or two.
good luck
