subframe tear out, just happened, awesome.
So I've suffered from the subframe tear out problem.
I bought the car with what a rear sway bar that looks to be a 22ish bar. it came with a ghetto subframe brace, and I didn't know the problems with the civic subframes. Well I do now.
So as it looks, the top bolt tore out and the lower is fine. So, wtf do I do here? I've heard of getting a new subframe welded on, and also it being repaired. I have since disconnected the rear sway bar.
The ghetto subframe brace that the car came with has the sway bar bracket mounted to the subframe brace away from the subframe, so that is what's bent out in this photo.

I obviously plan on getting something like the ASR brace once I have things repaired, could I get away with just putting the ASR bracing on since it was only the top with the spacer pieces in there?
I haven't been able to find much else so sorry in advance. Not much of a honda guy, this is my first.

When you're using a 22mm swaybar with a brace that's designed for a geometrically-different 19mm swaybar ............ then yeah, they're flimsy.

The SRR bar is an odd bar, geometrically speaking. It has no bends backwards, but has extra long endlinks that push it back behind the LCA and then down to connect.

Have them reinforce the crap out of it.
Progress 24mm adjustable rear sway going on 4 years street driving, no problems. Costs and weighs less than all the competitors, and has been out longer as well.
