Key Conversion
anyone know if you can change from a seperate key and 2 button fob to a flip key/switchblade key for a 2005 civic?
GOT IT SORTED..ORDERED 2 BUTTON FLIP OF E-BAY(£42).WENT TO LOCAL KEY CUTTING SHOP TO GET CUT(£5).CHANGED IMMOBILISER TRANSPONDER FROM OLD KEY(HAD TO SPLIT OPEN)JOB DONE.LESS THAN £50..BETTER THAN THE KEY AND FOB ANYDAY.

Well, you can get the keys reprogrammed at the dealership, so it wouldn't be a problem. I've seen it done a few times before.

not all honda keys work on the same immobilizer system. to get a flip key to work youll have to gut one of your stock keys and the flip key and swap the transievers. depending on the flip key you get it may or may not work with your OEM keyless system too. It's been done on the rsx forums a few times. It's time consuming, but if you really want the flip key, have at it.
