Just wondering, seems like my h22 tranny does not finish near 1/4 mile at all but dont want to go in 5th gear just because I might bog out.
Anyone else having same issues???

 

What's your slick size? Red line? Trans code M2F4?

 

24.5x8x13. yes it is m2f4 which is H22a1 tranny. My redline is at 8900.

 

i finish near the top of 4th. 9300 rpm redline.

Ok.
Tire size: 25"(or so with expansion)
Redline: 8900
And m2f4 gear ratios(M2F4 - 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.071 - 0.870 - 4.266)

You should be around 140-144mph at the end of fourth gear.

your probably short shifting 1st gear, try bouncing off the limiter in 1st then shift second and see if that helps, mine was like that too until i took first gear a little higher.

 

you can go to an h23 tranny and make it thru in 4th.

i was using 25 x 8.7 x 13 M&H. my best 1/4 mile speed is 148mph in 4th gear.

 

i cant remember if i tried a h23 or an accord trans in my h22 hatch....but it was absolutely terrible lol


i'd use the h22 gearing and build the motor to hold some rpm...or better yet h to b

The motor is built. 25psi on GT35R
H2b is sexy but I would like to stay with H22 tranny, kinda sux but I would like to make this 4th gear end @ 1/4 mile instead of no near the 1320...

 

at what point on the track does your car top 4th gear?

20-25yards away...

 

can you get a lower final drive?

 

the gearing is very close between the h22-h23. the accord trans could go through the quarter in 3rd.

 

swap your 4th gear for a longer one
