Default OEM honda oil filter

I went to honda the other day to pick an oil filter for my 06 SI. the filter is exactly the same as the filters for the 99 EK civics. I asked the guy, he says it is the right filter

I wanted to know are the filters the same for the older civic and newer civic SIs?

I thought they where the same but NAPA list them as two different part numbers. So I'm in for an answer to. I just ordered some Amsoil filters assuming they would fit on both my cars.

Amsoil lists them with two different numbers to. #EAO20-EA for the 99 si and #EAO13-EA for the 07 si. I've had a stock pill of filters and oil so its been awhile since I've bought either

I work at a honda dealership and all Hondas use the same oil filter except for a few exceptions(S2000,Insight).

here is a pic of 2 out of the 3 OEM honda filters...the short one is the Insight filter which is discontinued now and the taller one is probably what you got, the 3rd one is a short fat one which is for the s2k but i dont have a pic of that

I use a HAMP Filter and its really small. They claim 5 more PSI of oil pressure over stock filter.

All Honda's and Acura's use the same filter (Except for the s2000,Passport,and legend). There are 2 types. A01 which is made by Filtec and A02 which is made by honeywell. The filtec is a much better filter and has a check valve inside the filter. Honeywell is a cheaper quality filter with no check valve. Honeywell also makes Fram oil Filters. Most Dealerships carry the A02 (honeywell) because they are much cheaper for the dealership to buy. My work does not carry the A01 filters so I use a S2000 filter on my car because it has a check valve.

That disappoints me that Honda still uses Honeywell. Purolator Pure One's FTW, metal caped with a good check valve. If you ever want to have a fun little experiment get an exhaust cutter and a bunch of different brand oil filters. You will be shocked, no fake.

plm-a01> plm-a02

there also used to be a pr3 oil filter a few years back also.

all 88-current hondas take the same filter except passports, legends, ans s2000's.

s2000's take a pcx part number filter.
