NEED HELP: 94 SI not passing smog b/c of injectors...
Hey guys I need some help, I bought a 94 si with differet performace parts already on it, and when I went to pass the smog it totally failed. Anyways I narrowed it down to the injectors (they are RC eng. injectors) and I was wondering what kind of injectors I can put in it that will work the same as the stock ones.(because I dont have them) I can get a hold of 93 integra LS injectors, 98 civic DX injectors, 94 civic DX injectors -- these are the three cars injectors that I can get a hold of. Any advice will help

94 DX injectors. Same Generation. Hell same year.
YOu may have failed because of other things as well. What are the other modifications and if they are I/H do they have CARB EO numbers.
FPR's fail
Fuel Rail fail
Anything obviously modified fail.
Get my drift, that may be why the original owner sold the car.

just cause parts have CARB legal stickers on it doesn't mean it would pass smog in the sniffer. only on the visual. try to put as many of the OEM parts back on it. adjust the timing and get the cat as hot as you can before you test,
5g DX and Si injectors are the same.
I'm using 93 DX injectors in mt 95 Z6 motor, it went low 13's and PASSED the sniffer with no cat.

Okay, for those of you who want to know,
the car passed all the visual inspection...
It had advanced timing
fuel injectors
(dont know if it has a cam or not, tried opening it up and no cam gear so I assumed no cam)

Pretty much it, the car has 85k on it, and idles like ****... I took it to the smog station with everything on and the guy tried twice to pass it and the fist time is was at 184 while the second time it was at 143, for those of you who dont know, it has to be well below 100 to pass. It failed teh idle test, while passing the 2500 rpm test.
