What do you plan on tuning with? And what CR do you expect to have, 91 octane FTL

i thought he posted it up there...11.5:1 or something for those RS ITR pistons. sounds like a nice street setup. the 91 socal octane should work well with that motor for daily driving. if anyone up here doesn't think so, i'll chin check them with my dyno sheet

all right guys...he did ask for it so

91 octane pump gas...initially tuned on a mugen program and VAFC...i was running open header at the time. this was the first B20 ever to run the RS ITR pistons...and it's still running today

i run a simular B20 build, RS pistons/PRO2 cams. i think its an awesome motor, and have daily driven it every day since it first ran.

here is a link to it w/dyno:

this was broken in and tuned on a dynojet...later on the mugen program and VAFC were replaced with hondata S300

i have another dyno sheet where the 2-3 passes were overlapped with each other to show whp gain...lemme look for it real quick

*EDIT*

just found it...so yea...the hondata S300 unit was an improvement over the mugen/VAFC combo

Pass #38 should have read hondata S300...don't know why the tuner didn't change the notes on it

Yep, that poor dude in Malaysia thought he was going to make 240whp with B20, RS Pistons and CTR cams. Forgot his name, but he couldn't even get himself to post his dyno because the reality was that disappointing.

I am sorry folks, but 166ft-lbs tq. Not even the King M guys are doing that.

PHREAK, you know Sheepey? or more precisely the view of his rear license plate?

i just got done tuning a similar setup. the only difference is his head (b16) is completly stock and it has a stock b16 intake manifold, tb and a really crappy intake.

it made 195hp/140tq. i expect a good 20hp with a good intake manifold, tb and 3inch cold air intake... he's swapping it out soon so we shall see

don't expect these kind of numbers just because you use the RS ITR Pistons. numbers came out well because of several factors (in my opinion). engine builder (Eugene Castro @ Prostreet Import) has had years of experience building motors. his clearances for the bearings (mains and rods) are pretty tight but i'm sure that's why the motor loves to rev that high (over 9000 rpms). the cylinder head work was quite exceptional as well. Tom Fujita @ Portflow turned this GSR head to a torque monster; 166 is quite exceptional. also, Eugene learned Hondata on this motor. prior to this motor, he's never tuned with hondata. finally, the exhaust manifold from Randy @ RMF proved that his headers make power.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Master of the Universe &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Yep, that poor dude in Malaysia thought he was going to make 240whp with B20, RS Pistons and CTR cams. i'm running blox b cams on my setup...don't quite know why he didn't go with those instead of the CTR cams. he's using cams that were made for 12.x:1 compression. the rs itr pistons have like 11.1-11.3:1 compression ratio.

doesn't sheepey have an ITB setup??? i'm running through Victor X manifold with 70mm throttle body. i've never seen the rear license plate of his car...lol...i think i did follow him into eibach last year...so yea...i did see it from behind
also, isn't he parting out his setup to build a K-motor??

on pump gas at Palmdale 12.39 to 12.57 at 105-115mph open header.

i wasn't about to put a parachute mount on that chassis...i think you have to be going over 130+ mph to have a parachute or something
at the time, motor had a 4.9 fd tranny on it...now it has a 4.78 fd setup. also, the slicks were too small for the whp it's making.
