Default 1/8th mile track today......

Went to Breakaway Dragway today to run some 1/8th mile.....I was really just trying to practice on launching on drag radials, and test out my nitrous setup. I was running 9.2-9.7's on motor (it was 100deg most of the day). I ran 8.86 on my best pass on the 75 shot. I upped the shot to a 100 and spun 2nd, all the way through 3rd and had a nitrous backfire at the end of the track. I was wondering what the best way to launch was? I tried to preload but it's hard to do with a 4puck unsprung clutch, i cut several 2.2 60' but if it hooked, I would go straight to spray and spin up to the rev limiter and do the same through 3rd gear. I also broke my driver side cv axle (autozone lifetime FTW). Any ideas? I also have a crome chipped ecu with the 2step set at 5500 rpm's, it would hook if I feathered the gas off the line.......motor is a LS, made 149/125 on the motor, hopefully going to break 250 on the direct port. Thanks alot!

From what i have see, a car on nitrous doesnt need to have such a high rev. Personally i would have your nitrous switch activated so once u let off the clutch it comes on. Nitrous is a INSTANT power. A turbo is more of a wait then boom ur out(unless u have a small turbo). So just keep ur RPM launch like around 3000 on 2-step since ur on stock axles and drag radials.

3000 will bog, I launched it at about 3500 today and cut a 2.23 60'. I also race at SGMP in Cecil, and it's easier to hook up there, so I could probbably leave off the 2step and hook pretty decent at 5k. I am thinking my best bet is a w.o.t. switch.....

Hook ur nitrous up with a relay to a toggle and a push button, so ur on ur 2-step at 3000 with ur foot to the floor, then let the button out as you let the clutch out. With a 100 shot of nitrous, there is no way you will bog the launch. So if you dont want nitrous on just flip toggle off or let off gas.

run slicks!! or you are just going to spin the way it is.. unless you hook it up with a button and don't squeeze off the line.. but either way it will spin..

Slicks are the best way to improve your times!

i've got it hooked up to a button in the top of my shift ****. if i come off the line on the bottle it goes straight to the limiter. anyway, its looking like i need to order some lensos and m/t's.
