i need to bar the rex with a b18b in it i dont need any bs i need to get this done i need real help what do i need as far as smog stuff?i have ecu..vss ...and ect at the thermostat...anything else?

 

I will be doing the same with my EF7, I got a paper from the DMV with numbers to the Bauru of Automotive Repair (BAR) you can call them up and see what is needed or just attempt to get it inspected and see what is needed. Pretty much anything that is smog related for that mortor you would need on it I think. Hope this helps-

 

are you saying you've already tried? as far as i know, a good tune up and working exhaust should be all you need to pass

 

na dude im putten a obd1 engine into a obd0 car(rex) and im gonna bar it so it has to be obd1...ya c?

contact rywire.com they can convert your obd0 harness to an obd1 harness. from what i heard you cant ref with a jumper harness at the ecu.

 

Just make sure you have everything that was connected to the engine in the obd1 car. This came straight from the mouth of the tech who worked at the ref station the last time I was there. They generally don't allow jumpers but some people let em slide...oh and NO check engine lights at all!

 

dude, thats a long time! lol, anyhow, depends on where you go, i drive all the way down to orange coast college. the ref's are cool there, basicall go there your first time, dont worry if your not gonna pass, they will give you an exact list of what is needed. from there, just work off the list and make sure you dont mikey mouse it!

i was goin for the bar, since i got an exhaust ticket (which i just paid off later on) but before i can even get that list, i got rejected because i didnt even have reverse! lol 5 years later and a buff left calf from flinstonin my way out of parking lots, all is gravy !
