Default check engine light

I got a greddy evo 2 catback system for a 2000 civic dx but mine is an ex. i took the cat out to fit it and my o2 sensor is just zip tied up. I havent gotten a check engine light. its been 300 miles. Also id like to know about the spacer trick when you put the o2 sensor in regular pipe to keep the check engine light from coming on...

haha. yea it does sound kinda stupid but... just didnt make sense to me. im personally not worried about it, I just thought an o2 sensor zip tied up would throw a cel. and still... in case it does come on... does anyone know how to do the spacer trick with the o2 sensor to make it read correct.
