Test Pipes
I have a question i know Test Pipes increase the horse power but I have heard that test pipes are harder on the engine...why is that? and i am thinking about getting a test pipe on my Del Sol and the motor has 232,000 miles on it...is it worth getting a test pipe?
It would gain maybe 2whp on your stock Del Sol, feel less torquey, be alot louder, might cause a bad smell from your exhaust, and again it might make it sound funny.
I know you gain power from replacing the cat for a test pipe because I have a book named, "Honda Builder's Handbook" with dyno tests done with various mods and all kinds of Honda cars. But the gain will be unnoticeable in this case, not even from the most sensitive butt dyno. My 2¢.
